Frequently asked questions
Does the date difference calculator account for leap years?
Yes. The calculation uses actual calendar dates, so leap days are included when they fall within the range. For example, the difference between February 28 and March 1 in a leap year is 2 days, not 1.
How is the month difference calculated when the dates have different day numbers?
A full month is counted when the day of the end date is equal to or past the day of the start date. If the end date's day is earlier, the remaining days carry over. For instance, January 31 to February 28 counts as 0 months and 28 days, not 1 month.
Does the order of the two dates matter?
No. The tool always calculates the absolute difference between the two dates regardless of which one you enter first.
