About this tool
Upload a photo and see its embedded metadata. For JPEG files, the tool parses EXIF data directly from the binary file, extracting camera make and model, exposure settings, focal length, date taken, and other fields your camera recorded. Non-JPEG files still show basic properties like file size and dimensions.
All parsing happens in your browser. Your images are not uploaded or sent anywhere. This is useful for checking what information your photos carry before sharing them, or for quickly looking up camera settings from a shot.
Frequently asked questions
What image formats contain EXIF data?
JPEG is the primary format that stores EXIF metadata. PNG, GIF, and WebP files typically do not contain EXIF data. The tool will still show basic info like file size and dimensions for non-JPEG files.
Is my photo uploaded to a server?
No. The EXIF data is parsed entirely in your browser using JavaScript. Your image file never leaves your device.
What metadata fields are extracted?
Camera make and model, date taken, exposure settings (shutter speed, aperture, ISO), focal length, image dimensions, orientation, software used, and more depending on what the camera embedded.
